This year I played basketball for Geibel basketball team because unfortunately our school did not have a team. Our team has gotten so close and it was a good opportunity to meet new people. I played with one of our 8th graders here at St. Sebastian her name is Gayle P. We had a lot of games and unfortunately we didn’t win all of them. We have had our good games and our bad games. Some of the teams were pretty easy to beat but other teams were challenging.

Recently we had a tournament. We played our first game and it was against St. Johns Evangelist it was a really good game and we beat them. We versed another team late that day and it was against Mary Queen of Apostles. We also beat them by a lot but it was a really exciting and energetic game! Since we beat them we are now going to states in Pittsburgh! I was kind of hoping it would be farther away but I’m excited to go to states with them!

States is March 11, 2016 and is coming very fast. We have been practicing very hard, from recent experience of other teams it was a very tiring and competitive tournament! We have been running about 6-7 minutes every practice and I have to say at first it was very hard but now it is getting easier. Our team is representing the Greensburg diocese. We all get to stay at a hotel but sadly some people did not want to stay. We stay in the hotel for 3 days and 2 nights and it is so fun! We have 3 games that weekend, some of them are early and some of them are later in the day.  The 2nd day that we are there we have a mass and then a dinner.

We have worked very hard and I hope that we will be successful! It’s going to be very challenging, but I think that we can do it. I hope that you have enjoyed reading my article.
